In 2015, PlayrTrackr was developed to help soccer clubs, teams, and parents track in-game statistics using a mobile device like an iPad. The goal was to provide real-time insights into player performance and team dynamics.
For an entire season, the app was used to track statistics for two teams, leveraging an SQLite database to store player data and game results. Coaches received detailed reports for further analysis, helping them make informed decisions.
The app recorded key metrics, including:
✅ First touches (good vs bad)
✅ Passes (good vs bad)
✅ Challenges (won vs lost)
✅ Fouls (drawn & committed)
✅ Goals
✅ Assists
✅ Shots on goal (on target vs. missed)
✅ Headers
✅ Offside
✅ Corner Kick (Own vs Other Team)
✅ Yellow & red cards
✅ Saves
✅ Player time (substitutions in & out)
Although PlayrTrackr never reached commercialization, it served as a proof of concept, demonstrating the potential of mobile-based soccer analytics for teams at all levels.
